GutRot 1916
Packaging inspired by the story of explorer Ernest Shackleton's 'Endurance' Expedition.
In 1916, twenty-two men were stranded on Elephant Island, a sub-Antarctic island. Six of their crew had left in a tiny lifeboat to find help . While the rest of them waited, they created a potent brew out of the ingredients they had (including methylated spirits). It was dubbed ‘Gut Rot 1916’. Inspired by this story, I designed and created packaging for 'GutRot 1916'.
Illustrations and logo hand-drawn, scanned and developed in Photoshop, then refined and combined with other elements within Illustrator.
Piccolo Pasta
Packaging for artisan pasta brand, 'Piccolo'.
I took inspiration from the architecture of Renaissance Italy - especially from the city of Venice - aiming to give the brand a classic and elegant feel. I assembled various elements in Illustrator, including drawing the window shapes and the pattern along the side.
